B.A.T.S. Theatre Restaurant - 1 or 2 September

Tickets for the Boomi Amateur Thespian Society’s (B.A.T.S.) Theatre Restaurant night will be going on sale on 31st July, so I will need to have definite numbers a couple of weeks before. I will be trying for tickets for Friday 1st September or alternatively Saturday 2nd September. I still do not know how much the tickets are, but if you are interested, please let me know and I will put your name on the list and once I get confirmation of ticket prices I will contact you to see if you still want to attend.

The name of the show is “MURDER AT THE MOONSHINE MINGLE” – sounds interesting and we have never been disappointed in any of their shows.

For those who have never attended a B.A.T.S. Theatre Restaurant night, it is a great night from beginning to end. The format may change a little from previous times, but everyone arrives at the local Hall around 6pm and congregate in the marquee set up beside the Hall for pre-show drinks and nibbles. There is a bar set up and drinks are very reasonable.

As an Entrée, we have usually been given a hot cup of home-made soup to warm us up and then we move into the Hall for the Main Course which has been a Roast Dinner. Once the plates have been collected, the Show will start. At interval, we return to the Marquee where we are served beautiful home-made desserts, then it is back into the Hall for the second half of the Show which usually finishes around 11pm and we walk back to the caravan park which is only about 100-150 metres away or you can continue on the night over at the hotel.

You have to bear in mind that Boomi which is approx. 83klms s-w of Goondiwindi, is a town of approx. 150 people and they put on an outstanding night and that is why we keep going back. I am not sure if this will be our 3rd or 4th show. You will get plenty of laughs and will go home with a smile on your face and saying "That was a great night".

For those with a caravan, camper, tent, we camp at the caravan park and there is a choice of powered and unpowered sites. Powered are $23 per night and Unpowered $10 per night.

For those without a caravan, there is accommodation at the local Hotel. Dave & Sue Parkinson have previously stayed at the hotel, so you can talk to them about the accommodation there.

There is only diesel fuel in Boomi, so fuel up in Goondiwindi.

There is also a Co-Op Store which has basic supplies and an Artesian Hot Pool. Entry is $6 for adults and $5 for concessions.
