QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY LONG WEEKEND TRIP – 3rd to 5th October 2020

Camping at COLUMBOOLA COUNTRY CARAVAN PARK, Lot 233 Ryalls Road, Hookwood (near Miles)

(30klms west of Chinchilla, turn right onto Ryalls Road just after 2nd railway crossing and continue a further 14klms on firm gravel road to entry on left to campground.)

Come early or stay longer – Some Jeepers will be onsite from Wednesday 30th September to Tuesday 6th October, however I need to know your arrival and departure dates.

Columboola is a 200 acre privately owned campground. 4 hours west of Brisbane. The campground boasts “Just peace and quiet and LOTS of it”. Set up as a Veterans Retreat, it is also open to the public. A neighbour to the property is a Vietnam Vet who has written a book and will come over for a visit while we are there.

Camp Fees

Unpowered sites $10/person/night

Power sites – Additional $5/site/night

** Pay for 2 nights, get the 3rd night FREE

*** Veterans, 000 Emergency Workers receive additional 25% discount

Facilities – Hot showers, flush toilets, coin-operated laundry, tank water, treated water, powered sites have own fire pit, undercover communal area, pet friendly (you can even bring your horse – stables & yards provided), ping-pong table, TV, firewood can be collected from property or BYO firewood or purchase $20 for half a 44gallon drum.

Accommodation – Unique Handcrafted Cottages & Cabins

Cottages and cabins – accommodates 5 people - $100/night/2 people; Additional adults $10/night, stay 2 nights – 3rd night FREE

Facilities – full kitchen facilities, lounge, airconditioning, shower/toilet, linen included, TV

Caracabin – accommodates 2 people - $70/night, stay 2 nights – 3rd night FREE (no shower/toilet but Amenities block only 20metres away)

What’s to do there……..

4WD Tracks & Trails over 100 acres, fishing, yabbie-ing, bushwalking, birdwatching, petting zoo, swimming hole, kayaking and canoeing, relaxing. 28ks to Miles to Miles Historical Museum Adults $18; Seniors Card $15. Dogwood Crossing Art Gallery, Miles; 2-course Roast Dinner for $20/head (possibly Saturday night)

Want to book in – Please advise me if you are interested in this trip as soon as possible so that sites can be confirmed with the property. They are holding powered sites for us but I need to confirm numbers asap.
