Where: 805 Burrum Heads Road, Burrum Heads. Ph 1300079018
Date: Monday 24th February, departing Friday 28th February
Trinity Islands Holiday Park has spacious waterfront powered and unpowered sites. It is set amongst the natural beauty of one of the most stunning regions in the world – the Fraser Coast.
Trinity Islands is a relatively new Park which is still being developed and is built on a man-made lake. The property also has access to the Burrum River. The lake is stocked with fish, including barramundi and fishing in the lake is welcomed on a “catch & release” basis and there are some very big barra in the lake.
We will be camping on Pelican Island which has powered sites, 1 unpowered site, a small amenity building, 2 taps with town water where you can fill up your tanks on arrival & join your hose up to the property hose if you need to top up your tanks during your stay. All sites have a waterfront view of the lake. There is a dump point near the entry/exit to the Park. The adjoining Turtle Island has 2 Tiny Houses plus more powered and unpowered sites if all the sites on Pelican Island have been booked. There is also 1 Family Cabin & 1 Studio Unit near the entry/exit to the Park. Check out their website for information on the Park and also what is provided in the Tiny Houses, Cabin & Studio Unit if you want to book one of those. The Tiny Houses are not owned by the Park and have to be booked through a link on the Park’s website. The Family Cabin and Studio Unit can be booked directly through the Park’s website or by giving them a call.
The Park is ‘pet friendly’ however animals (dogs & cats) need to be kept on the leash at all time and owners must clean up after their animals.
Camp Fees
– Powered sites $42 per night; Unpowered sites $32 per night. Bookings will need to be made and the information regarding how to book will be given to you when you advise me that you wish to attend the weekend. A deposit of half the cost of your stay has to be paid at the time of booking.
- Family Cabin is $580 for the 4 nights
- Studio Unit is $520 for the 4 nights
- Tiny Houses (which are on the waterfront) are approx. $926.86 for the 4 nights. The actual cost is calculated when you put in your details on the link.
Things to Do –
Swimming or floating around the lake on whatever water device you may have
“Catch & Release” fishing for an elusive Barra – pack your rods & bait/lures as we will have a fishing competition
Take in the stunning afternoon sunsets
Relax on the deck by the Burrum River and throw in a line
Enjoy a campfire if fire restrictions permit
Relax and enjoy the environment
Just set up camp, light the fire and relax a while at Trinity Islands Holiday Park, Burrum River, Fraser Coast!
Some other things to do in the area –
Burrum Heads
Burrum Heads is 10mins from the Park and has a bakery, butcher, grocer, coffee shop, pub, bowls club & take-away. Apparently, the butcher shop has fantastic meat at affordable prices and the Burrum Heads Bakery has the best Curry Pies.
The Burrum Heads Bowls Club has Barefoot Bowls on Wednesday afternoons from 3pm, so another possible activity for the group to investigate and they also have a Courtesy Bus to pick us up from the Park.
The Burrum Heads Tavern has great pub meals and also has a Courtesy Bus to pick up guests at the Park.
There is also a Museum in town.
Howard, Woodgate, Toogum, Hervey Bay are all short drives away, SO you will have plenty to keep you as busy as you want to be.
At this stage, I am thinking for those that want to extend their trip, we could venture inland and take a few extra days to get home, otherwise, you can drive back down the highway to your home.
If you want to join in the trip to Trinity Islands Holiday Park, please contact me asap so that sites can be secured. Also, if you have any queries, give me a call or check out their website.
