Updated: Mar 25, 2023

This trip may be considered a “pub crawl” otherwise known as a tour taking in several pubs for a meal with one or more drinks at each, but on this trip, we have good places on the map that looks promising and of course, enabling us to explore the possibilities in the area.

To begin with, on Friday 28th April, our start point is at 9.00a.m. at the Bundamba weigh pads. (Near Costco, Dinmore).

Our first night Friday 28th April will be a free camp at Bowenville. Toilets only at this site.

Bowenville Weir is part of the Oakey Creek, so you may like to drop a yabbi net in the creek.

he next day we will travel to Chinchilla and spend a couple of nights, Saturday and Sunday. The Ruberns Lagoon Caravan Park has been advised of our arrival and site bookings have been made under Qld. Jeepers. The cost is $25.00 per site/per night.

The Ruberns Lagoon Caravan Park is 3 kms from the Post Office.

It has powered sites;

individual cubical shower and toilet lot

free firewood and fire pits

canoes and kayaks free use

bush walks and is pet friendly

Saturday 29th April - site seeing about town, shopping etc.

Sunday 30th April pub-lunch will be available at the Chinchilla Club Hotel, should you choose. Arrangements will be made for a group booking.

Monday 1st May our fourth night will be at the Caliguel Lagoon free Camp, Condamine area. Toilets available.

Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd May will be at Meandarra.

Brigalow Creek Camping has power and water available. $10.00 per site/night. Toilets are situated across the road from the camp site.

A visit to the ANZAC Museum – entry $5.00. This is in walking distance as well as the Meandarra Royal Hotel. Lunch/evening meal.

Then on Thursday 4th May we travel to Tara.

Tara Lagoon Parklands $10.60 per site with power, toilets and hot showers. If required, stock up on supplies at the local IGA store.
