The Christmas Breakup is a big weekend in the Jeepers social calendar and we hope you can all make it along for a day or the whole weekend. You can arrive anytime from Thursday 4th and stay until Monday 8th December. Any extra days will be $30/night, not the discounted rate for the Club.
*****Please note CHECK-IN is from 12 NOON. Please do not arrive earlier than 12 noon as you will NOT be permitted to enter and set-up camp****
Directions to Showgrounds – Travel along the Brisbane Valley Highway and use either the North or South entrance into Toogoolawah. The south entrance will take you through the main street, then dogleg into Ivory Creek Road. If coming from the northern approach, continue along the road and take the turn into Ivory Creek Road. The showgrounds are located at 54 Ivory Creek Road and are about 1klm down Ivory Creek Road from the main street and easily identifiable by a white-fenced entrance.
Campground facilities – Showers & toilets, some powered sites, some with water, recycling bin, Entertainment area for use over weekend, Dump Point, Mobile Phone reception. A short drive or walk to Toogoolawah township for any supplies you might need.
Campfires – Provided there are no fire bans in place. BYO your own fire-pit/brazier, tray to catch ash & wood. Ash can be added to the large campfire area.
Pets are permitted but MUST be kept on a leash at all times.
Camping fees - $25/van/day - eft/cash (power & water or unpowered – not all sites have power and/or water). If you arrive before Thursday or stay after Monday, the camp fees are $30/van/day. The Showgrounds give us a discount for our group booking.
What will be happening over the weekend -

THURSDAY OR FRIDAY – Check in from 12 noon. Please stop at “Caretaker’s” Van on arrival to pay camp fees and register before setting up. Caretaker’s van is on the left once you enter through the gate.
Since having our Christmas Breakup at Toogoolawah Showgrounds, members who arrived on Thursday have gone for a pub lunch at the Exchange Hotel on Friday, so we will do it again this year if there is enough interest. Please advise Carolyn Farnell if you want to do the Friday Pub Lunch as we will need to book a table.
SATURDAY – Saturday morning our Treasurer, Lloyd, will have a deal for you. Bring your money along to his van and he will sell you your lucky raffle tickets. Tickets can be purchased any time Saturday up until Sunday morning before the Christmas celebrations start.
Saturday afternoon, activities will start at 1.30pm with the wrapping of prizes and hampers for the Multi-Draw Christmas Raffle held on Sunday. Donations of individual prizes or grocery items for the hampers can be bought over to the Entertainment Area from 1.30pm or dropped to Carolyn’s van if you need to drop off early. If you can’t make it on the Christmas weekend and would like to make a donation, donations can be handed to Carolyn Farnell beforehand at the Annual Club Luncheon & Birthday celebration on 1st November or contact her to make alternative arrangements. All donations are greatly appreciated. If donating foodstuffs, please ensure that they are still “in date” and that their “Use By” date has not expired.
Following the wrapping of prizes, the Club “Country” Meeting will be held around 3pm. Happy Hour will follow around 4.30pm. As we have been doing since the start of CO-VID, everyone brings their own plate of nibbles and drinks for Happy Hour. There will be no communal ‘nibbles’ table.
The Committee have organised with the Show Society President to cater the Saturday night dinner. Cost - $25 per head for a 2-course meal. The Club will be subsidising members $10 per head for the dinner, so costing you $15. Dinner will be in pavilion with tables & chairs provided. BYO drinks. If you don’t wish to partake in the catered dinner please advise when you put your name down to attend the Christmas weekend.
Don’t forget to pack some Christmas decorations to decorate your van/campsite and the table where you will be sitting at the Saturday night dinner. This will add to the festive atmosphere of the weekend.

SUNDAY – activities will commence at 10.00am sharp with the arrival of Santa and distribution of presents for children and/or the “Big Kids”. If you are bringing primary-school aged children or younger, can you please advise Carolyn Farnell asap – how many children, their names and how old they are. If you have a “fun” gift for one of the “Big Kids”, please get in touch with “Santa”, alias Ricky 32885867 0437188471 janko54@optusnet.com so Santa knows.

The Club will give each primary-school aged child a small gift and we also ask parents/grandparents to bring a small gift with the child’s name marked on it, for Santa to present to them. These gifts can be handed to Ricky & Vince once you have set up in camp or when you arrive on Sunday. After Santa’s departure, there will be presentation of any Awards and the drawing of the Multi-Draw Raffle. Lloyd will be selling Raffle tickets throughout the weekend and I am sure he will have a deal for you.

Go to the website and put your name down there and adding information required;
Please advise which day you will be arriving and departing as a Toogoolawah Showgrounds Booking form has to be submitted to the Showgrounds a week prior to the weekend and please advise your vehicle registration number; AND
Advise if you want to join in the pub lunch on Friday.
Advise if you want to join in the Christmas Dinner on the Saturday night; AND
Most importantly, we need to know if you will be bringing any children with you.
